2019 elections most effective Nigeria ever witnessed – Malam Giginyu

An 86-year-old voter, Malam Shu’aibu Danladi Giginyu, has said the 2019 presidential and National Assembly elections were the most effective and peaceful polls Nigeria has ever witnessed.

Malam Giginyu said he started voting in the First Republic and that he had never witnessed a smooth and efficient election process like the 2019 elections.

Giginyu said, “The process is efficient. It takes a voter few minutes to cast his vote and leave the polling unit, unlike before where a voter could spend hours before voting.

“Although there are some changes in the process, it is generally commendable because the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has really tried in terms of preparation. Security agencies also deserve commendation.”

He expressed hope that those who would emerge winners at the end of the polls would reciprocate the gesture by addressing the problems affecting their subjects.

“My hope is that those elected into various public offices would work for the people who devoted their time and energy to vote them into power.

“The leaders should fear God and discharge their responsibilities with honesty. They should also treat their subjects with justice and fairness,” he concluded.
