Meghan Markle Will 'Give Birth In Windsor', Breaking Royal Tradition Once Again

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will be welcoming their little one any day now (she revealed her due date is around the end of April or early May), but they have so far remained very coy as to where The Duchess has chosen to give birth.

But according to new reports in The Sun, the couple have officially decided not to have their baby at the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington and have instead opted for a maternity unit closer to their home in Windsor.

The Lindo Wing has been the swanky choice of Kate Middleton for the births of Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, in a tradition that was started by Princess Diana.

Making a surprise appearance at the British Fashion Awards calls for a pretty spectacular outfit. Enter this timeless number, which has since set the bar high for one-shoulder gowns.

The source told the publication: 'This child will not be born at the Lindo.

'The talk of all the senior clinicians there is that Meghan doesn’t want to copy what Kate did.

'Harry and Meghan realise there is intense public interest but this baby is not a direct heir to the throne and they want the birth to be as private as possible.'

'Meghan is nervous about complications such as an emergency Caesarean and doesn’t want the pressure of having to look immaculate on the hospital steps just hours later.

'Like any anxious first-time mum, she’s worried about the birth itself.'

Unlike Kate, Meghan is apparently not keen to take part in the famous 'post-baby' photoshoot (to be honest, we don't really blame her. Who would really want to have the world's eyes on them just hours after the most stressful experience of her life!?) and has been urged to avoid the whole thing altogether.

The Duchess was advised by Fridababy CEO and mother-of-three Chelsea Hirschhorn to skip the usual photoshoot immediately after the birth of a royal baby.

"Bringing a new life into the world usually starts with your vagina, and the aftermath is a mess," she wrote in a letter to Meghan.

The source added that Meghan just wants a 'normal' birth and wants 'to bond with her baby, without being primped and blow-dried to within an inch of her life just for the pictures.'

Sounds fair enough.
