The Canada-based university don, who held both Nigerian and Canadian passports, posted a photo from Addis Ababa Airport, Ethiopia, hours before the plane took off.

Babajide Sanwo of the All Progressives Congress has emerged as the new governor of Lagos state, south-west Nigeria, after recording a resounding victory in the 2019 governorship election. The APC candidate defeated his main rival, PDP’s Olujimi Agbaje, 739,445 to 206,501 to emerge as the winner of the poll.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday declared Seyi Makinde of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) winner of the poll Oyo State Governorship election held on Saturday, March 9. The Vice-Chancellor, University of Lagos (Unilag) Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe who is the returning officer said that Makinde won the election with a total vote cast of 515, 621 against Adebayo Adelabu of All Progressive Congress (APC) who garnered 357, 982.

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun was in early Monday Morning declared winner of the March 9 governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (Inec). The State Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor, University of Ibadan, Professor Idowu Olayinka, announced Abiodun as the state governor-elect, at the State Collation Centre of INEC at Magbon, Abeokuta, having polled 241,670 in the election.
