1. Ihedioha Emerges Winner Of Imo Governorship Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (Inec) has declared the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha, as the winner of Saturday’s governorship election held in the state. The former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives polled 273,404 votes to defeat his closest rival, Uche Nwosu of the Action Alliance (AA) who polled 190,360 votes, while Senator Hope Uzodimma of the All Progressives Congress (APC) came third, with 96,458 votes.

2. Inec Declares Kano Governorship Election Inconclusive

The Independent National Electoral Commission (Inec) has declared the governorship election in Kano State inconclusive. Prof. Bibi Shehu, the Collation Officer for the Governorship election in the state, announced this shortly after the compilation of the election results from the 44 Local Government Areas in the state on Monday night.

3. PDP Rejects Outcome Of Kaduna Governorship Election

The Kaduna State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rejected the results of the governorship election held in the state on Saturday, March 9. The party’s agent, Jerry Ishaya, made this known at the State Collation Centre in Kaduna on Monday after INEC declared Governor Nasir El-rufai as the winner of the exercise.

4. INEC Declares Outcome Of Benue Governorship Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the March 9 governorship election in Benue State, north-central Nigeria, inconclusive. Returning officer for Benue, Sebastian Maimako, said the commission declared the poll inconclusive because 121,011 electorates were either unable to vote or election did not hold in their areas.

5. INEC Declares Winner Of Kaduna Governorship Election

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Kaduna governorship election, Nasir el-Rufai has been re-elected as the leader of the state. Concise News learned that El-rufai won fifteen out of the twenty-three local government areas in the state.

6. Again, Gunmen Kill 16 In Kaduna

No fewer than 16 persons were killed by gunmen at Barde Village under Maro in Kajuru Local Government Area of the state, Kaduna State Police Command has said. The Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Yakubu Sabo, confirmed this to the News Agency of Nigeria in Kaduna.

7. Inec Omits Okorocha’s Name From List Of Senators-elect

The name of Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha, was missing as the Independent National Electoral Commission (Inec) released list of newly elected senators on its website on Monday. INEC published the list of elected federal lawmakers ahead of the presentation of the Certificates of Return on Thursday.

8. Buhari Comments On Governorship, State Assembly Elections

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday declared that the governorship and house of assembly elections conducted across the country last Saturday were largely successful and said that he would want to be remembered as a leader who kept his word that elections in Nigeria must be free, fair and credible. A statement by the President’s spokesperson, Garba Shehu in Abuja, said President Buhari made this known when he received Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State at his private residence in Daura, Katsina State, on Monday.

9. Gov Okowa Thanks Ibori For Supporting His Re-election

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has thanked former Governor James Ibori for supporting his re-election in last Saturday’s election in the state. Okowa took to his Twitter handle to appreciate the former governor, describing him as his leader who has always stood by him.

10. Real Madrid Reappoint Zidane, Sack Solari

Struggling Real Madrid have announced the reappointment of Zinedine Zidane as their manager, 10 months after his exit from the side. Real board of directors met on Monday to terminate Santiago Solari’s contract with the first team as they offered him an opportunity to remain at the club.
