An indigenous automobile manufacturing company Innoson Nigeria Limited claims it has obtained a court order that allows it to take control of one of Nigeria’s biggest banks, Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank). Baba Newsline reports that Innoson on Friday said it obtained a writ of Fi Fa from the Federal High Court in Awka, Anambra State, against GTB to implement the judgement given by Nigerian courts over the lingering crisis between it and the bank.
2. CCT Rejects Onnoghen’s No-case Submission, Orders Him To Defend Charges
The Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) has rejected the no-case submission made by suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Onnoghen in his trial. In a ruling, CCT Chairman, Danladi Umar, said the prosecution has provided sufficient evidence to establish a prima facie case against the defendant to warrant his being called to enter his defence.

The Director-General of the National Agency for Food, Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Mojisola Adeyeye, has claimed the House of Representatives committee on healthcare services had demanded a bribe from her. Concise News reports that speaking when she was a guest on Sunrise Daily, a Channels TV programme on Friday, Adeyeye said the committee asked her for the bribe in the form of “money for welfare” when they visited her in December 2017.
