1. Atiku’s Deputy DG Turaki Arrested, Says PDP

Nigeria’s main opposition party, PDP, says Deputy Director-General of the Atiku Campaign Organisation, Tanimu Turaki (SAN), has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Spokesman for the party Kola Ologbondiyan made this known in a statement on Monday as the PDP demanded his immediate and unconditional release, claiming he was arrested for no just cause.

2. PDP Vows To Challenge Outcome Of Presidential Result In Court

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has vowed to challenge the outcome of the Presidential election result announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in court. The opposition party added that it will petition the United Nations on what they described as the militarization of the polls. This decision was reached at an extended caucus meeting which held in Abuja and presided by the party chairman, Prince Uche Secondus.

3. EFCC Finally Speaks On Arrest Of Atiku’s Son-in-law

Nigeria’s anti-graft agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has confirmed the arrest of Babalele Abdullahi, the Finance Director of Atiku Abubakar’s group of companies. The commission confirmed Abdullahi’s arrest on Monday, March 4, two days after his father-in-law, Atiku, announced that he had been apprehended by the federal government agency. The EFCC, according to spokesman for the commission, Tony Orilade, is investigating Babalele, Atiku’s son-in-law, over allegation of money laundering.

4. Kano PDP Candidate Stripped Of Governorship Ticket

A Federal High Court in Kano has nullified the candidature of the Peoples Democratic Party’s Abba Yusuf for the governorship election in Kano state, northwest Nigeria. The cancellation of the primary election followed the suit filed before the court by one of the party’s governorship aspirants Ibrahim Ali-Amin, who challenged the legitimacy of the process which produced Yusuf as a candidate.

5. Police Boss Speaks On Killing Of Officers During Nigeria’s 2019 Elections

Two police officers were killed during Nigeria’s 2019 Presidential and National Assembly elections, the West African country’s acting police boss Muhammad Adamu said on Monday. Adamu, officially known as the Inspector General of Police, disclosed this during a meeting with top police officers at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

6. Court Orders Forfeiture Of Late Badeh’s Property To FG

The Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the forfeiture of all properties of a company, Iyalikam Nigeria limited, connected to late Chief of Defense Staff Alex Badeh to the Federal government. The court also convicted the company connected to the late Badeh of corruption and money laundering charges. Justice Okon Abang gave the order in a Judgment delivered in the suit filed against late Badeh and his company by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

7. Buhari Vows To Restore ‘Stolen’ Votes In Akwa Ibom

President Muhammadu Buhari has thanked the people of Akwa Ibom state for voting for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the February 23 presidential election. Speaking on Monday in a town hall meeting held in Uyo, the president said votes of the Akwa Ibom people that were allegedly stolen would be restored.

8. Tinubu Speaks On ‘Banning’ Ajimobi, Meeting With Akala

National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Tinubu says his intervention in Oyo APC is to engender genuine reconciliation and not to move against Governor Abiola Ajimobi. Tinubu was reacting to a report by an online news platform that he banned Ajimobi from leading APC campaigns in Oyo and bringing back to the party’s fold, former governor Adebayo Alao-Akala. But in a statement on Monday by his Media Adviser, Tunde Rahman, Tinubu said he was only lending his support to the governor and APC’s efforts in the state.

9. Mikel, Iheanacho Missing As Rohr Invites 23 Eagles For Seychelles, Egypt Clashes (Full List)

Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel and Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho have been left out of the squad to face Seychelles in this month’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier and a friendly with Egypt. Mikel was left out despite playing regularly with Middlesbrough since joining the English Championship side from the lowly rated Chinese league in January this year. According to the list of invited players for the aforementioned matches, head coach of the Eagles Gernot Rohr handed FC Midtjyland striker Paul Onuachu and Valentine Ozornwafor their first call-ups to the three-time African champions.

10. Tiwa Savage Defeats Danny Young In Plagiarism Battle

YouTube has restored Tiwa Savage’s “One” video on its video streaming platform, Following unfounded claims of copyright theft by Danny Young. YouTube took down the music video after Afropop artist, Danny Young, alleged that Tiwa Savage lifted lyrics off his song, “Oju Ti Ti Won,” a song he released in 2009. Young confirmed he filed complaints against the singer, saying he had reached out to Tiwa Savage on the intellectual infringement in her song but was ignored.
