1. Buhari Discloses Plans After Completion Of Second Term


President Muhammadu Buhari has revealed that he would settle down in his hometown Daura after completing his second term in office in 2023. The President made this known while meeting with traditional rulers at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The rulers came to visit him under the aegis of the National Council of Traditional Rulers.

2. Obasanjo Reveals Why He Will Continue To Criticise Buhari


Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has revealed that he will continue to criticise President Muhammadu Buhari, stating that democracy involves criticism and not a family affair. According to the former Nigerian leader, the issues between him and Buhari were not personal. Obasanjo said this during his 82nd birthday anniversary celebration on Tuesday at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, in Abeokuta.

3. PDP Storms INEC Headquarters In Protest Of Presidential Poll Result


The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has stormed the national Headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to protest the result of the just concluded presidential election. The national chairman of the party, Uche Secondus led thousands of party supporters to the commission’s office located at Maitama around 3pm.

4. INEC Excludes APC Candidate From Enugu Governorship Election


The All Progressives Congress (APC) may not participate in the March 9 governorship election in Enugu State. A look on the final list for the poll, published by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC), reveals that Enugu APC has no candidate. INEC said it was in obedience of court order as the party has yet to submit a new name after Ayogu Eze was sacked.

5. EFCC Releases PDP’s Turaki, Atiku’s Son-In-Law


Son-in-law of Atiku Abubakar, Babalele Abdullahi, and a bigwig of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Tanimu Turaki, have been released by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Abdullahi, who is the finance director of Atiku’s group of companies, was arrested on Saturday while Turaki was quizzed on Tuesday by operatives of the commission in Abuja.

6. Buhari Felicitates With Obasanjo At 82


President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated former President Olusegun Obasanjo as he turns 82 years old on Tuesday. The President described Obasanjo as “a passionate and great patriot who deserves accolades for his immeasurable contributions to our democracy and national unity.” In a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, Buhari said he would continue to accord Obasanjo respect, in spite of their political differences.

7. Many Killed As Gunmen Attack Zamfara Village


At least 30 people have been reportedly killed by unknown gunmen who raided a village in Zamfara State. Police and residents confirmed the attack on the Kware village in Shinkafi district on Sunday night by Motorcycle-riding gunmen. According to AFP, the armed bandits opened fire on residents and burnt homes.

8. Atiku Applies For Inspection Of INEC Register, Other Documents


The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has asked the court of Appeal in Abuja to allow him to access all documents used by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the conduct of the February 23, Presidential elections. The ex-parte motion filed by Atiku is praying for an order compelling INEC to allow them to Inspect the register and other vital documents used in the conduct of the election unhindered.

9. Livescore: Ajax Knock Real Madrid Out Of Champions League


Ajax Amsterdam have knocked Real Madrid out of the UEFA Champions League in a shocking style with a 1-4 defeat in the second leg of the Round of 16 on Tuesday night at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid. The result earned the Dutch side a 3-5 win on aggregate and concluded a nightmare week for Los Blancos.

10. HBO Releases Game Of Thrones Season 8 Trailer (Watch)


HBO on Tuesday released the Game of Thrones Season 8 trailer, previewing the final season of the network’s wildly popular high fantasy drama. Game of Thrones kicked off in 2011, adapting George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire book series into the cinematic television series that has since captured fans around the globe.
