2. House Of Reps Member Olatoye Sugar Shot Dead In Ibadan

Temitope Olatoye, a serving federal lawmaker representing Lagelu/Akinyele federal constituency of Oyo state in the National Assembly has been shot dead in Ibadan. Concise News gathered that Olatoye, better known as “Sugar” in the political circle, was shot by suspected thugs in Elesu village, Lalupon, Lagelu Local Government area of the state. It was learned that Olotoye was rushed to the Accident and Emergency Centre of the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan where he died.

3. Ogun Decides: EFCC Arrests APM Candidate In State

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Sotayo Johnson, an aspirant for the state house of assembly election in Ogun state for alleged “vote buying”. Concise News reports that the suspect, according to the anti-graft agency, was arrested on Saturday, at Ijaye park polling unit, Abeokuta, Ogun state. A member of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Sotayo is seeking to represent Abeokuta south state constituency.

4. Lagos Governorship Election: We Don’t Trust Igbo Again – Tinubu (Video)

Remi Tinubu, wife of a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, has said she does not trust the Igbo. Tinubu, who won a re-election to the Senate in the February 23 elections, said this after voting in the governorship and State House of Assembly election on Saturday, March 9. In a video captured by Punch, the senator is heard telling an Igbo man, Charles Nnamani, that Igbo did not vote for President Muhammadu Buhari.

5. Police Officer Kills Election Observer In Enugu

An election observer has been shot dead by a policeman in Umuida community, Enugu Ezike, Igbo-Eze north local government area of Enugu state. It was said that the unidentified observer was shot in the head by the police officer stationed close to the residence of Ayogu Eze, governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state. Enugu police command spokesman, Ebere Amarizu confirmed the incident to journalists, said it was an “accidental discharge”.

6. Tinubu Speaks On Lagos Governorship Election

National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, has said that “O to ge”, the slogan used to dislodge Senate President Bukola Saraki in Kwara state is not applicable in Lagos. Fielding questions from reporters after casting his ballot at polling unit 047, ward 3, Ikeja local government area of the state, Tinubu said in Lagos, the people should consider “o to pe”, translated as “it’s worthy of praise”.

7. Adamawa Decides: What Atiku Said About Governorship, Assembly Polls

The alleged rigging of the presidential and National Assembly elections is responsible for the low-voter turnout in the governorship and House of Assembly elections, according to the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar. He spoke after voting at the Ajiya polling unit 02, Gwadabawa ward of Yola north local government of Adamawa state.

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has expressed optimism that he will win the governorship election of Saturday, March 9, 2019. Concise News understands that Ortom gave the assurance on Saturday after casting his vote during the governorship and House of Assembly election in Benue State.

Remi Tinubu, the wife of a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, has told Lagosians to “Show me your hand, get the money.” Tinubu said this on Saturday after casting her votes in the governorship and state Assembly elections at Polling Unit 034, Falomo Police Barracks IV, Ikoyi, Lagos.

10. Sundowns Bring Down Lobi Stars In Caf Champions League

Nigerian champions Lobi Stars were on Saturday spanked 3-0 by South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns in a Group A Caf Champions League match played in Pretoria. Thapelo Morena, Themba Zwane and Lebohang Maboe netted the goals that gave the South African side the win which confirmed their place in the quarter-finals.
