A peculiar yet heartwarming situation left the residents of a small town in Karnataka shocked beyond belief recently and after watching the video you will feel the same too.

A video from Nargund, a town in Karnataka, is going viral online and it shows a monkey trying to console a crying woman.

The video was shot during a funeral, where a woman can be seen crying, when the monkey walks up to her and puts its hands on her shoulder and then pats her head to console her.

According to reports, the incident was recorded after the death of an 80-year-old man in Nargund, when his relatives gathered to grieve with the family.


Reportedly, the monkey entered the house, consoled the man’s relatives for some time and then eventually walked away.

After the video was posted online it was shared widely, with some people even remembering the Hanuman Jayanti festival which happens to be today.

According to the reports, the monkey was also spotted at other funerals before.

In fact, residents of the town told a daily, "The sound of loud wailing possibly drew its attention. It attends the funerals and mimics how we console each other. Now we feel that no funeral is complete until the monkey arrives."
