1. NLC Reacts To FG’s Plan To Remove Petroleum Subsidy
The Federal Government has been cautioned by the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) against executing the recommendation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on the removal of subsidy on petroleum products in the country. NLC President, Ayuba Wabba, gave the advice at a news conference on Saturday in Abuja.

2. Buhari Returns To Abuja From Chad Summit

President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday returned to Abuja from N’Djamena, Chad, where he took part in the one-day Extraordinary Session of the Conference of Heads of State and Government of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States. At the Hassan Djamous International Airport N’Djamena to bid the Nigerian leader farewell were Chadian government officials, Nigerian Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Interior and Defence, Jeoffrey Onyaema, retired Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau and retired Brig.- Gen. Mansur Dan Ali.

3. Fuel Scarcity: NUPENG, IPMAN Speak

The National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) and Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) have urged Nigerians to stop panicking over fuel scarcity as there is sufficient product. Emmanuel Jime, the defeated Benue Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the APC in the state have filed a joint petition challenging the victory of Governor Samuel Ortom at the 2019 general elections held between February and March in the state. Babanewsline News reports that the governorship polls in the state were declared inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and reconducted in March where Ortom emerged winner.

President Muhammadu Buhari says he has not backed off his promise to secure the release of Leah Sharibu and the remaining Chibok girls. The President renewed the pledge in a message by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, to mark the fifth anniversary of the abduction of the Chibok girls.
